Eyes: Vision Correction
June 20, 2008 1:13 pm Eyes, Health & FitnessVision correction has been around for thousands of years, even though it has not always been a formal practice. Records exist of people using crystals in ancient times to magnify the objects they were looking at. Eyeglasses, formerly known as spectacles, have been in use for hundreds of years and some say they have been used in China for over 2,000 years, but it is likely glasses were not used to correct vision.
Vision Correction Choices
Never before has there been such a great variety of choices in vision correction. The popular choice for centuries still exists in the form of eyeglasses. There have been many incredible advances in glasses in the last 15-20 years, which would astound and confound people who lived just 100 years ago. Glasses are still the number one choice for people to correct vision problems around the world.
Many people choose to use contact lenses to correct their vision. Contacts allow people the freedom to participate in many activities without having to worry about their glasses falling off or other problems. Millions and millions of people use contact lenses everyday across the US and enjoy the results they experience with them.
Laser surgery to correct the shape of the eyeball to restore vision to 20/20 has been very popular and is gaining momentum. Many people are using eye exercises for vision correction because it is easy and very cost-effective. This is not a quick fix, but many people have noticed incredible results in vision improvement by doing exercises on a regular basis.
